Schizophrenia Resources

Hello! In this post, I wanted to introduce you to some of the schizophrenia resources I’ve come across in my personal journey with the illness. The first resource that I’ve come across is Emergency Support Providers. The founder, Heidi Levy, is a personal friend of mine and has been instrumental in helping me to acquire services, including housing and other supports. She is currently located in the Rochester, NY area.

The second resource is NAMI, or the National Alliance on Mental Illness. NAMI provides various services for those struggling with mental illness, but the service most relevant to me has been their classes for family members. For more information on these, you can contact your local NAMI by searching your zip code here.

The third resource that has helped me is my therapist. Therapy is crucial for people struggling with schizophrenia, as a therapist can help you to wade through the delusions and paranoia that often go hand-in-hand with the illness. One potential match here is Better Help, which can match you with an online therapist.

That’s it! I hope this post has been helpful to you. If you have any additional resources you would like me to post, you can contact me at daniel@danieljaouendevelopment.com. Thanks for reading!
